Here's how it works:
- The line runs through the interior of the rod blank, enabling the line and hooks to be reeled up inside the blank. This prevents the multiple hook Sabiki rig setup from tangling and inadvertently snagging on other lines as will happen with any other style of rig.
- With the line inside the
blank, this rod is instantly ready to fish allowing for there to be more than one Sabiki rod stored on a boat without tangling. The angler just releases the reel allowing the line to free-spool out of the blank with the bell sinker carrying the sabiki rig out of the rod.
- The rod tip is funnel shaped to allow the line and hooks to be reeled up into the rod blank for storage without hanging up. At the same time, the bell sinker attached to the end of the line stops the Sabiki rig from running down into the blank.
