Our Mission
To put high end fishing gear in the hands of anglers at an affordable price.
Who We Are
Temple Fork Outfitters Canada is owned and operated by Springbrook Manufacturing Ltd. in Calgary, Alberta. The Canadian branch of TFO is independent from the American branch, however all TFO rods are made in the same facility in South Korea (see below). If you've visited both the Canadian and American websites you'll have noticed that although some rod series are carried by both branches, other rod series are only carried by one branch. The reason for this is that each branch carries rod series' that are region and water specific. Because of this, TFO Canada is unable to perform warranty service on a rod bought in the US, and vice versa.
Our Story
Temple Fork Outfitters began well over a decade ago when its founders decided, contrary to popular belief, that high performance fly rods with a killer warranty could be made available to the public at an affordable price. With decades of collective experience in the industry and even more experience fly fishing, they spent countless hours seeking out the highest quality fly rod maker to fulfill their vision. Initially, production was limited to a single 5wt, 6wt, and 8wt rod. However as new technologies became available and TFO's popularity grew, so did its fly rod line up. Not only this, we also began developing conventional rods to cater to the west coast ocean and sea-run species enthusiasts. As a result, TFO Canada now carries 12 fly rod series and 6 series of conventional fishing rods.
Meanwhile, with the manufacturing expertise of Springbrook, TFO Canada has developed a robust line of fishing reels, fly lines, and other fly fishing accessories. Based on our fishing rod philosophy, these TFO products are both cost effective and built to last.
Where Our Rods Are Made
We're proud of the fact that all Temple Fork Outfitters fly rods and conventional rods are hand crafted in South Korea. The manufacturing facility is controlled by TFO and the facility manufactures TFO products exclusively. Our rod designer has years of engineering and manufacturing experience and is solely responsible for developing our proprietary technologies. He is passionate about what he does and it shows in the diversity and quality of our rods.
A common misconception is that Asian manufacturing quality is below that of products made in the U.S.A. and Europe. Although this may be true in some cases, it is important to keep in mind that not all Asian countries use the same materials, construction practices, or quality control processes in their manufacturing and therefore should not be lumped together. In our experience, the quality of a product varies based on who is making it, not where it's being made. If you are unsure about buying a Korean made rod, what we can offer you is our first hand experience and assurance; we have hand selected the materials used to build our rods, we've seen the careful attention to detail and meticulous craftsmanship that goes into assembling them, and we have thoroughly tested all of our products before bringing them to market.
